Nokia E5 Review
This is the review of the Nokia E5 – the newest QWERTY smartphone in Nokia’s arsenal. It has nice hardware specifications and is priced quite low in India at 10,600 INR; almost at half the price of the Nokia E72. It has the potential to become the best budget QWERTY device across the mobile landscape. It will probably replace the Nokia E63 and E71 smartphones while cannibalizing the sales of the Nokia E72.
- Dimensions: 115 x 58.9 x 12.8 mm

Design:
The Nokia E5 has a nice industrial design with smooth edges. The body is composed of plastic and metal and feels quite sturdy. The build quality is as good as any Nokia phone. It resembles the E71. The design is very polarising, you will either hate it or love it. I, for the record, like it a lot.
It has a standard 2.4 inch TFT display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels just like the Nokia E63, E71 and E72.
Hardware and OS:
It has pretty decent hardware specifications – ARM 11 600 MHz processor, 250 MB internal memory and probably 128 MB of RAM. It comes with the same OS as the Nokia E72 – Symbian OS v9.3. It comes with support for Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents and Flashlite 3.0.
Camera and Multimedia:
It has a 5 MP camera capable of taking shots at a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. It takes nice pictures with accurate color representation. It sports the same image gallery as OS 9.3 phones which is pretty good. It can play 3GP and MP4 videos by default and pretty much every other format if you install 3rd party applications like Core Player, Real Player and Smartmovie.
Connectivity and Other Stuff:
The Nokia E5 comes packed to the core with connectivity features – it has GPRS, EDGE, 3G HSDPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g with UPnP and DLNA, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP etc. It also has a MicroUSB slot to transfer data. It comes with A-GPS and bundled Ovi Maps and has a stereo FM radio with RDS. It is powered by a 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery.
Nokia E5 India Price: Rs. 10,600.
